Students at West Campus kicked off the 4th six-weeks with a bang at the “Glow into the New Year” pep rally! These rallies are all about celebrating students who are hitting their marks in academics, attendance, and behavior while getting the whole campus excited for the term ahead.

The idea started as a way to give students and staff a schoolwide reset at key points in the year. Pep rallies are more than just fun—they’re a reward for students who meet clear expectations: passing all classes, keeping absences and tardies to a minimum, and avoiding major behavior issues. Teachers make sure students know the rules ahead of time and prep them so the rallies stay structured, positive, and full of energy.

Kindergarten teacher Ashley Quinones, who served as MC, said, “Our pep rallies let us celebrate our students’ hard work and fill the room with joy, laughter, and loud cheers! Every time I see a student push themselves to do better because they want to be recognized, it reminds me that kids just want to have fun and feel proud of themselves.”

Fourth-grade teacher Matt Herring, also an MC, added, “These rallies have become a West Campus tradition that both students and staff look forward to. They give students a chance to celebrate, get motivated by their peers, and have fun in a lively environment. Plus, it helps build a sense of family and friendly competition that pushes everyone to do their best.”

With each rally, West Campus shows that celebrating hard work, holding students accountable, and having fun can go hand in hand—energizing the campus and setting the stage for a great six weeks ahead.
