Titan Academy Golf Team Earns 2nd in State Tournament

The Titan Academy golf team made a powerful statement last month, securing a second-place finish at the state tournament and solidifying their place among the top programs in Texas.

Facing elite competition at the demanding Crystal Falls course, the Titans stepped onto the course with focus and determination. From the opening tee to the final putt, the team showed composure under pressure and a willingness to battle through every challenge.

That pressure was real. Between difficult course conditions and the mental demands of high-stakes play, every shot required confidence and clarity.

“One of the biggest challenges we faced during the tournament was the mental fight of knowing if we were ready enough to play at Crystal Falls and making tough decisions throughout the tournament,” said Aj Trout.

Windy conditions added another layer of difficulty, forcing players to constantly adjust their strategy.

“Some of the biggest challenges we faced during the tourney were making tough decisions with it being very windy at times and putting,” said Trey Leemon.

Preparation was another obstacle the team had to overcome heading into the tournament.

“The biggest challenge was not having a lot of practice time and facilities to practice at,” said Hayden Prachyl.

Even so, the Titans never lost confidence. Instead, they leaned on each other—building trust, staying locked in, and pushing through adversity together.

That chemistry didn’t happen overnight. Over the course of the season, the team developed a competitive edge fueled by accountability and support.

“We have grown this season a lot by pushing each other to be the best we can be,” Trout said.

That growth was evident at state, where the team delivered one of its strongest performances of the year when it mattered most.

For the players, this finish represents more than just a medal—it’s proof of what they’re capable of.

“Second place means a lot to us because it shows that we can do it and nothing can hold us back,” Prachyl said.

Congratulations to Aj Trout, Chase Kratz, Trey Leemon, Andrew Bow, and Hayden Prachyl for their outstanding performance and for representing Titan Academy with pride on the state stage.

The runner-up finish has energized the school community and raised expectations for the future. With talent, momentum, and belief on their side, the Titans are already setting their sights on what comes next.
