Heart of a Titan: Titan Academy Principal Adam Hile
At Titan Academy, Principal Dr. Adam Hile's journey into education feels less like a career choice and more like a calling rooted in family tradition.
“I came from a teacher family,” Hile said. “My mom was a math teacher. A lot of my aunts and uncles were teachers. So it’s just what I grew up knowing and wanted to be.”
Inspired by the educators around him, Hile followed in their footsteps, beginning his career in the classroom before moving into leadership. Along the way, mentors helped shape his path.
“I had great mentors as a teacher, and they saw leadership potential in me,” he said. “They encouraged me to go work on my master’s degree and my doctorate.”
Now serving as principal, Hile's days are filled with a wide range of responsibilities focused on supporting both staff and students. He conducts classroom walkthroughs and observations, providing feedback to strengthen instruction and academic outcomes. At the same time, he remains closely connected to families and campus staff.
“Throughout the day, I’m supporting teachers by doing walkthroughs and observations, giving feedback on academics,” Hile explained. “But I’m also communicating with parents, checking in on the front office staff and the nurse staff to make sure that they have what they need.”
For Hile, creating a welcoming environment is central to the school’s mission. He emphasizes the importance of ensuring that every student feels a sense of belonging.
“We make sure that every student has a place so that when they are here, they feel welcome,” he said. “They have a friend group that they’re working with and that they can excel academically.”
As a high school principal, Hile says the most rewarding part of his job comes at the end of each school year.
“The most rewarding part, especially being a high school principal, is seeing our students graduate at the end of four years when they walk across that stage, get their diploma,” he said. “I know all of the hard work that they’ve put into it.”
Ultimately, Hile measures success not only by academic achievement but by personal growth.
“It’s really important for me to make sure that when our students leave here, they’re leaving as better students, as better people,” he said, “so that they can grow in themselves later.”
Through a combination of leadership, mentorship, and a deep-rooted passion for education, Hile continues to guide Titan Academy students toward both graduation and a brighter future.
